Thesis Statement.
In America, women have had various impacts on the establishment of the government, the
legislation, and other key concepts of the present society. In line with this notion, Rosa Louise
McCauley Parks is a woman who had a significant contribution to American society. Proposal.
For the approach of this question, I will focus on Rosa Louise McCauley Parks and her
contribution to civil rights in America. Rosa, during her existence, was popularly known as “the
first lady of civil rights.” I wish to establish precisely what Rosa was able to accomplish in her
life between her birth in the year 1913 and her demise on the 24th of October in the year 2005.
Her contributions towards the contribution of America we have today is one that cannot be
ignored as per the understanding of the little I have managed to gather about her and her
affiliation with the civil rights movement. As she is known as an activist, I would like to
highlight the various activities that earned her this title and how they are related to her success in
the establishment of civil rights for the American people. She is known for her violation of
segregation laws, which was one major way in which she championed for civil rights. She had a
significant play in the Montgomery Bus Boycott (Gale, 2018). In her times of existence, I wish
to understand the various laws she worked against to emerge as the “first lady of civil rights” in a
country as big as America. I also wish to highlight the various challenges that she faced in these
ventures to rid America of the social issue of segregation. I also need to highlight the impact of
these challenges on her journey. There is a possibility that these challenges slowed down her
progress in the fight she had embarked in.
