industry. However, despite the differences, the companies tend to compete in the industry and
make the significant inroad across the customer range — the issues of business ethics in the
company’s form the critical part of differences between the companies. For instance, the Publix
supermarkets and Walmart supermarkets have differing values as well as code of conduct. They
have a different way of making decisions, management styles, among other areas.
Publix supermarket has over several decades of operations ensure that the customers get
total satisfaction. The company has remained a top leading company in the United States due to
its strong culture adherence. For many years since the established, the company has developed a
culture of respecting people. The family-run company has become the most profitable local
grocer. The company respect for people ranges from recognizing the employees to the
customers. In essence, the engagement between the employees has been instrumental in creating
the culture of the company. They tend to take care about how a person feels as the feeling
brought out by engagement within the organization determines the customer satisfaction.
Walmart is one of the best prosperous multinational chain stores. The company holds a
social responsibility to both the employees as well as a vast of customers across different states
and nations. The company culture majors on respecting individuals as well as serving the
customers. The management ensures that the company is at the forefront of gaining excellence in
every operation of the organization (Bowie, 2013). For instance, the company vision is not only
company based but looked at striving to achieve the best for both personal and community
levels. More so, the company vision remains the employees that they must always work to
promote ownership regarding ethical culture. It understands the importance of fostering this
culture across a vast of stakeholders worldwide.
Publix supermarket under the leadership of Todd Jones as the CEO is becoming a
familiar name among the business enthusiasts. He has grown from working as a service clerk in
the company to a manager and then to a regional director of the company. He has worked
tirelessly to boot Publix customer share in the different positions until he was picked as a CEO in
2016. He was the first nonmember of the family who is now the business’s chief executive
officer. The chief executive officer has different kinds of strategy focuses on delivering
partnership with customers as well as local companies. The CEO understands the company in
every area, given he joined the company over 30 years ago and has worked in almost every
department. He, therefore, understands the need to remain effective at every stage.
Walmart CEO was recently named the executive of the year. Doug McMillon has led the
company to form a lasting impact through innovation and development (Krishna Thakker, 2018).
He has worked for the company for over two decades, but within the last few years as a CEO, he
has been able to move the company to great heights. He has put a keen eye on the everyday
operations of the business.
The Publix Super Markets, Inc. is impacting the community in different ways. It is a
lifestyle to serve the customers, the public, and employees. It has, on several occasion, named by
the various organization as a leading organization in public support (Amanda Ponzar, 2012). The
company employs the philanthropic model of corporate social responsibility. The company
continues to be committed to the public and show generosity and commitments in serving the
public. It has developed a lasting impact across many individuals, families, as well as
communities. They believe in being kindhearted as well as being effective for not only profit but
also much more on doing good to others.
Walmart, on the other hand, uses the economic, corporate social responsibility model.
The company majors much on providing opportunities for the employees as well as suppliers as
well as people. It aims at increasing the sustainability of operations as well as having strong
